For many women it has been shown that exercise during pregnancy can enhance energy levels, self-esteem and mood, while at the same time reducing some of the physical discomforts of pregnancy. Studies have shown that the IQ of children from women who are active during pregnancy tend to be higher than those of children of non-active women.

"I was a 53-year-old woman when I started working with Jared two years ago. I started working with him because my young cousin suddenly dropped dead of a heart attack with no warning and I certainly didn't want to follow him. Jared understood immediately that I needed a somewhat different type of exercise from what I had in mind, and isn't this why you really need a professional to guide you? For about a year and half I had suffered with severe pain in one elbow (and moderate pain in several other joints). I was taking a lot of medication for pain and swelling, I had been through quite a bit of physical therapy and my docs had recommended disc surgery to relieve the problem in my arm. At that time, I could not raise my arm up beyond the level of my hip and, even at that level, the pain was intense. I couldn't even hand coins to the toll booth operator!

"Jared gave me some very gentle, but very specific exercises. I was skeptical. Lots of docs and physical therapists had given me exercises to do and the ones he was recommending were waaayy too gentle to do any good, or so I thought. And he kept after me. When I was in tears with the pain, there was a really sincere hug but then a firm expectation of at least some effort at exercise. And on days when I felt pretty good, he was tough, which was exactly what I needed.

"Bottom-line" Within a month my arm was much better and within six weeks, good as new and I've had no arm pain in the two years since then. I continued with Jared and worked on many other joint and pain problems. The techniques he taught me I use all the time, and I've had knee problems since I was nine years old. When things flare up, I go back to the simple and effective techniques he taught me and I keep going without surgery! So now, with his help, I've been able to start a walking program that is helping me shed the pounds that have troubled me for years. I don't get to work with Jared much anymore, but I keep in touch and I keep his number handy in case things get out of hand for me because I know this young man has the answers.
