INITIAL GET TOGETHER

Before the initial get-together happens, we will have spoken on the phone or in person for a few minutes, and you might have already received the Client Introductory Pack. Before you receive any training from HIT FIT, I require you to fill out the medical history questionnaire as well as the activity and nutritional profiles found in your packet. Also, read and sign the Consent and Release Form. If your responses to the medical history form indicate we need to do further follow-up, this could delay your first workout. Since we are in this for the long haul, your safety is our primary concern. Not only does this follow professional protocol, but I cannot create the safest and most effective program for you until this information is obtained. I won?t let you start with my services - even though I am excited to start too - until I am confident you can progress safely.

It should take about twenty minutes to fill out your paperwork. It?s fun and introspective and may fuel your thinking toward the goals and expectations you have and that we can accomplish together.

Our initial get-together is provided at no charge. We?ll finish up any paperwork that is necessary and schedule your first workout when we have cleared up any questions related to your medical history, activity, or nutritional forms. Our thoroughness and safety record are highly respected. Your best interest and well-being are at the top of my agenda. (top)

YOUR FIRST WOKROUT?

I am so confident in my ability to make a huge difference in your workouts, that I believe this first workout will be the beginning of a long-term relationship. This is an ongoing process where we work as a team (client and trainer) to define goals, interests, and desires. Over time, we will outline your program plan to achieve the results you are looking for.

Many first timers worry that they need to be in shape before coming to me. It is my job to ensure you progress you slowly. I will meet you where your health and fitness needs are today. Your first session will be a workout, not a wipeout.

Generally, I will not put you through a gauntlet of fitness tests during you initial visit. Fitness testing and assessment are optional motivational tools that I will use with you when appropriate to your conditioning level and program. By having you fill out the medical questionnaire and carefully evaluating your answers, I am certain I can safely and accurately begin training. Fitness assessment can be a double edged sword that can straddle personal encouragement or humiliation. Some tests can even put you at risk for injury if not properly and timely administered. Fitness testing is not a diagnostic at HIT FIT. It doesn?t evaluate whether you have health risks, as such this option is not always utilized. (top)

APPAREL, GEAR, PERSONAL HYGEINE

?Dress to Impress? does not apply at the gym. Wear something comfortable that will allow you move (such as T-shirts, shorts, tights, and athletic shoes). At the gym, shower and changing facilities are offered, so bring what you need for this. A bottle of water is a good idea and towels are provided by the gym. It is the client and trainers best interest to have good hygiene. Dental Hygiene, clean clothes and shoes and overall body cleanliness are a must given the up close personal nature of personal training.(top)

BASIC PROGRAM POLICIES

Training session length is based on a 55 minute hour, although shorter and longer options are offered. While most of my clients choose one-on-one training for the specialized attention and focus provided, there are small group training options.

Promptness! To get the most out of your time and efforts please be ready to exercise at the appointed time. Because clients are usually scheduled before and after you, or I may have somewhere to be, so workout times cannot be extended without previous planning. If I am late for your session, even by one minute, your session will be extended given the opportunity. In a situation where this cannot happen, you will be compensated with more time on another date.(top)

-Cancellation of your scheduled workout and missed sessions
You will not be charged for sessions you cancel with more than 24 hours notice. You are allowed one late cancellation per every 4 scheduled workouts. For example, if you workout twelve times per month, you are allowed three late cancellations a month. If you workout four times a week, you are allowed one a week.

The full session fee will be charged to clients who cancel with less than 24 hours notice, or if late cancellations exceed one per every four workouts. Excessive cancellation, regardless of notice time and resultant pay will be discussed between the client and trainer. Your program will not be as successful - obviously, even if you pay for missed sessions - if your attendance is not consistent. I want what is best for you and want to earn the money you invest toward you health.

If I miss an appointment with a client, regardless of my reason, a sincere apology will be forthcoming immediately. Although crises do occur, even for a trainer whom you may consider beyond reproach, I believe that missing sessions is not acceptable. I respect and value your time commitment too much. The missed session - if you were not provided 24 hour notice - will immediately be rescheduled at your convenience, with no charge.(top)
